Why are we protesting?

We are protesting — united as one as the LGBTQIA+ community — against the policies our governor Ron DeSantis is signing. It is unacceptable how the state of Florida talks about and deals with LGBTQ+ topics and students. It is unacceptable how the LGBTQ+ community is treated in Florida. It is time people stand up to this hate rhetoric and take a strong stance against it. Please support us in any way to help further our mission and protest by sharing on social media and in person.

Goals: We want to achieve enough publicity in these protests so the politicians are aware of what young people think of their policies.

Target: Our protests target the press and the media so our politicians are aware of us and our mission.

It will start at 2:00 PM EST. We will have a concrete date in the next few days!

Where is the protest?

All Florida education institutions are our goal. The protests will be demonstrated OUTSIDE and OFF campuses on sidewalks. If you're planning a protest in front of or near your school, please contact us via email ASAP. We want to make the biggest impact possible.

How long is the protest

The protest will be one hour and thirty minutes long from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM EST.

I'm too afraid to protest at my school, how can I organize safely?

We understand how the DeSantis administration is cracking down on LGBTQ+ students and using our 1st amendment right. If you need help organizing a protest at your school, please shoot us an email at theprojectcaerus@gmail.com; we will assist you in organizing at your school as well as any other questions you have about protesting.

If you are unsure how your school will react if you follow through with a protest, please talk to your school's counselor or a legal professional. Luckily, there are websites out there to ease your worry about the legalities of protesting. Below is a list of websites that can help you with that.
